The Shrunkenheadman Club is San Jose State University’s Animation/Illustration student organization. The club provides a multitude of services, including hosting guest presentations, weekly figure drawing sessions, and SHM-Con, our annual alumni convention. Formed in 1995, the club is dedicated to keeping our members and community well informed and excited about art and the industry. Our alumni have built a reputation within the screen arts community (television, feature film, and video game industries) as being humble, hardworking, honest, and hungry.

Events

The Shrunkenheadman club hosts weekly, monthly, and yearly events. Each event educates students and contributes to our strong sense of community. The Shrunkenheadman Club has hosted presentations from studios such as Bento Box, Blizzard, Blue Sky, Cartoon Network, Disney Feature, Disney TV, DreamWorks, Hallmark, Nickelodeon, PIXAR, and Sony Animation. Other events include film screenings, charitable fundraisers, alumni guest visits, and much more. Resources

The Shrunkenheadman Club provides a variety of resources for its members. We have live figure drawing sessions every week, which usually run around three hours long (and are very reasonably priced!). We have our own Shrunkenheadman Library, which is filled to the brim with art-related books and other inspirational materials. We also run other events throughout the year to help support our students, like our bi-annual Portfolio Peer Review, an event where underclassmen can get feedback on their portfolios from upperclassmen!
